Randy hit town in San Francisco in 1969 to audition as an actor with the San Francisco Mime Troupe. They took him.
He Worked with R.G. Davis and Sandra Archer among other amazing people. They soon asked him to write music for the plays.
And the rest is history:

More than fifty scores for theater and film.
Founding Member Pickle Family Circus.
Founding member San Francisco Make*A*Circus.
An Academy Award nomination (didn’t win, but what do they know?).
An OBIE, A Bay Area Criitcs’ Circle Award, Best of San Francisco Fringe (twice).
Film festival showing around the world.

A good review now and then.

Performed in most of the United States, including Alaska (a great experience!) and Germany, Denmark, London, and Istanbul.        Yes, Istanbul.

Scored too many shows including “One of the ten best shows of the year” (SF Chronicle theatre critic Rob Hurwitt) “Scapin” with MacArthur Award winner and clown supreme Bill Irwin. A great time.

As a teacher:
For many years, an Artist-In-Residence at Ruth Asawa School Of The Arts in San Francisco until the pandemic.
San Francisco State Universtiy Extension.
Contra Costa College Young Actors’ Workshop.
Community Music Center for 25 years or so.
And privately.

He is, lucky him, married to the actress Stacy Ross.
